Christmas Part 4: ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

‘Twas the night before Christmas
when all through the office,
not a creature was stirring,
not even the coffee pot-s (read it so it rhymes, ok?)

Alone in the office
there arose such a clatter
that I began to think
that something’s the matter.

But then I laughed softly
and said to myself,
“No one’s here, you loon,
not even an elf.

For now is the time
when we all take vacation –
from work, from Cube City
And compatriation.

No one will spend
one more minute than’s needed
since rollover cutoffs
have quickly been heeded.

They’re using up time
well before it is lost
because not taking rest time
is too high a cost.”

So here I sat, quiet,
and typing away,
thinking how Christmas
was one day away.

The only real question
I had for myself
was why it’s the night before Christmas
and I’m still working.
By myself.

Merry Christmas to All, and to All a Good Night!

Holiday Regards,

A Fellow Office Worker

**Please note that staff will be out of the Office on Monday, December 26 in observation of the Christmas holiday. Our office will reopen starting Monday, January 2 for usual operations. Thank you for your understanding.**
